We are now booking personalized tours and student assessments for the 2027–2028 school year. Families are encouraged to begin the admissions process at this time. A limited number of openings also remain for qualified applicants for the 2026–2027 school year.
Families searching for a Toronto private school open house are welcome to schedule a personalized school tour. Our tours provide the opportunity to visit the school while classes are in session and enjoy a more individualized experience than a traditional open house.
During your visit, you will have the opportunity to take a guided tour of the school, meet with our Principal and learn more about our individualized academic programming while classes are in session.
What to Expect
- You will tour the school. You will explore classrooms, learning spaces and displays showcasing student work.
- You will see classes in action. Tours are conducted during school hours, giving families an authentic glimpse into SLI’s enriched learning environment.
- You will meet with the Principal. You will have the opportunity to discuss your child’s needs, areas of strength and potential program fit to understand how SLI may support your child’s academic growth.

Do I need to book a school tour in advance?
Yes. Personalized tours are offered by appointment so that each family has time to meet with the Principal, visit the school and discuss their child’s educational goals.
What happens during a school tour?
During your personalized tour, you will meet directly with the Principal, explore our classrooms and learning spaces, see classes in session and learn more about our academic programs, admissions process and whether SLI may be the right fit for your child.
Can my child attend the tour?
Yes. We encourage prospective students to attend the tour with their parents whenever possible, although it is not required. Parents are also welcome to visit on their own and return with their child at a later stage of the admissions process.
Can my child spend time in a classroom before enrolling?
As part of our admissions assessment, prospective students spend time in a classroom with students of a similar age. This allows us to better understand your child’s academic readiness, classroom engagement, learning style and social interactions. It also gives your child an opportunity to experience the classroom environment.
What are the admission requirements for accepting students?
Admission to SLI is selective. We seek students who demonstrate strong academic ability, positive character, intellectual curiosity, motivation to learn and a willingness to contribute positively to our school community. The admissions process may include a review of previous school records, a student assessment and time spent in the classroom to help determine whether SLI is an appropriate fit for the child.
Does SLI offer student assessments?
Yes. Student assessments are part of the admissions process and help us understand each child’s academic strengths, readiness, learning needs and potential program fit. Assessments may include individual activities as well as time spent in the classroom.
