Extending the Benefits of the SLI Method

SLI The Sidney Ledson School is pleased to announce its Teaching Placement Program partnership with the University of Toronto.  Following a successful pilot program in the second semester of the 2020-2021 academic year, SLI will continue to host and supervise approved University of Toronto students in the English Teaching academic stream.  Placements are offered in a hybrid format to adapt to any operation contingencies implemented by the Ministries of Education and Health.  The SLI Placement Program serves to provide Teaching Students with experiential learning in the areas of technical and adaptive facets of professional elementary grade instruction.  This includes guided mentorship in understanding and leveraging the use of assistive technologies, communication and coordination strategies, and proven pedagogical methods that have brought rewarding student learning outcomes to generations of SLI students.  To find out if you are eligible to apply for participation in the U of T Placement Program at SLI, please contact your designated program coordinator.

"My time at SLI was amazing. The administration, teachers, and students were incredibly welcoming and their feedback helped me grow as an educator; I was able to build on my teaching philosophy and improve my teaching style which greatly impacted me as an educator. I’d never considered working at a private institute since I grew up within the public school system, but getting the opportunity to volunteer at SLI and witness the amazing work of the SLI teachers has made me reconsider my career plans. I will forever cherish my time at SLI, and I cannot emphasize how much my placement helped me grow as an educator and a person. "
