Learning to Lead with Vision and Peer Support

Both in-person and online, SLI has continued to provide a platform for students as young as eight years of age to lead peers in a direction of their most genuine interests.  Children not only get a say in the activities that the school helps structure, but they also get to benefit from intergenerational bonding, strengthening perspective and communication as they collaborate with peers in lower and higher grades.  Furthermore, club leaders are guided to develop and practice their real-world organizational skills by proposing viable and meaningful club activity plans, in addition to setting up and delivering compelling recruitment presentations to draw the interest of potential club members.  These student-led operations have been remarkably fruitful in empowering not only early confidence but also in resulting products that have been distributed to enrich the school community experience.  We commend our student club participants for most favorably and routinely serving as a true testament to the adage, “age is just a number!”
