SLI's Young Authors & Creative Expression Camp gives students the opportunity to explore storytelling, artistic expression, creative thinking, and age-appropriate enrichment in a supportive full-day summer camp environment.
Throughout the week, students participate in a variety of differentiated activities designed to encourage imagination, communication skills, confidence, and self-expression.
Morning Academic and Creative Program
Each morning includes mathematics reinforcement and enrichment, English language arts development, creative storytelling, and exploration of creative publishing formats.
Students will have opportunities to develop original ideas, strengthen communication skills, and explore creative projects appropriate to their age group and interests.
As part of the program, students will create different forms of storybooks, including digital eBooks and physical books, allowing them to experience the excitement of bringing their ideas to life through storytelling and creative expression.
Afternoon Creative Expression Program
In the afternoon, students explore creativity and artistic expression through a variety of art mediums and creative projects.
Activities are designed to encourage imagination, experimentation, collaboration, and confidence while allowing students to express their ideas in their own unique ways.
Full-Day Summer Camp Experience
In addition to academic and creative programming, students enjoy a balanced summer camp experience with themed activities, indoor and outdoor games, team challenges, creative projects, social interaction, and outdoor recreation.
The program is designed to give children a full day of learning, creativity, movement, and fun.
